Mountain Lodges of Nepal, a family-owned collection of traditional high-end accommodations along the Great Himalaya Trails, reached out us with an ask to build their brand from the ground up. Our strategy team positioned MLN as a cultural ambassador for Nepalese trekking and a world-class offering in mindful athletics and spiritual travel. With a focus on simplicity and authenticity, the brand would honor both the mountain and the traditions of mountain hospitality, catering to the soulful sportsman and the mindful athlete dedicated to personal excellence. We aimed to capture the essence of Nepalese trekking while appealing to Western audiences. This case study shows our holistic approach to branding.

The brand mark was designed to capture the history of the brand while propelling it to a modern sporty vibe, ensuring it served as a beacon of authenticity across all brand materials. Next to the brand mark, we created a rich visual language that celebrated the beauty of the Nepalese landscape and culture. From colorful illustrations to rich collages and detailed icons, each element was carefully crafted to immerse guests in the unique experience of Himalayas.
Photography played a central role in our visual storytelling, capturing the raw beauty of Nepal’s natural landscapes, vibrant villages, and warm hospitality. We developed detailed art direction guidelines to ensure a consistent photographic style that aligned with the brand’s values and narrative.
A set of icons was created to enhance communication and user experience on the Mountain Lodges of Nepal website. These icons represent lodge amenities, key features, seasons and trail difficulty levels, adding clarity and visual interest to the brand’s online presence.
Detailed strategy and positioning and all visual elements came together in an immersive website design representing all the values Mountain Lodges of Nepal stands for. Through focused storytelling, complex UX, interactive elements and colorful, vibrant graphics, we created a friendly vibe that positioned Nepal as an accessible and warm destination, contrary to the perception of the harsh Himalayas being complicated to reach.
The identity was further enhanced by a set of applications that a traveler would find in the lodges once they reached Nepal. These applications continued the colorful, vibrant look of Mountain Lodges of Nepal and contributed to creating a memorable experience for the visitor and enhancing their overall journey.
The new storyline and visual language we created have helped Mountain Lodges of Nepal establish itself as a leading destination for high-end travelers seeking authentic experiences in the Himalayas. Moving forward, the elements we created evolve and expand the brand’s appearance, ensuring it remains a beacon of authenticity and inspiration for years to come.
